Estonia’s best intern is Kiara Rumask

The Estonian Employers’ Confederation competition Best Intern 2023 selected Kiara Rumask as the best higher education level intern. She completed her internship at Merko’s Lahekalda construction site.

Kiara completed her internship as a second-year student in the building design and construction management speciality in the engineering faculty of TalTech’s Tartu College. Kiara’s resolve set a good example not only for students who were already studying in engineering curricula but also high school students still deliberating about which speciality to choose.

The Employers’ Confederation recognizes Estonia’s most outstanding interns and the organizations that offer the best internship opportunities.

“All parties stand to gain from internship – students get actual work experience, educational institutions and companies can improve the quality of study through cooperation and make it closer to the needs of the labour market,” said the under secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research, Renno Veinthal, at the award ceremony.

A total of 25 interns and 36 internship organizations that are committed to training the next generation of personnel were nominated at the competition, which was held for the eighth year in a row.

Kiara was a big help for us this summer as a member of the Lahekalda site crew. We congratulate her and thank all members of the crew who supervised Kiara and helped her to realize she picked the right specialty!
