Keit Paal will not continue as Chairman of the Management Board of Merko Ehitus Eesti after the termination of his contract

Keit Paal, Chairman of the Management Board of AS Merko Ehitus Eesti, has informed the Supervisory Board of his wish not to continue in his current position after the termination of his service contract on 14 November 2019. The Supervisory Board has started the search for a new Chairman of the Management Board.

“Working as the Chairman of the Management Board of Merko Ehitus Eesti has been extremely interesting and intense. I have been very pleased to contribute to the development of the largest subsidiary of the Merko Group. The construction market is constantly changing, and the most adaptable are the ones that succeed, so our company needs to adapt continuously and quickly. I feel that the development of the organization as a whole has been going in the right direction and that changes definitely need to continue. I thank the Supervisory Board for its confidence in me. But personally, it’s the right moment to hand over the baton to a new manager,” said Keit Paal.

Keit Paal has worked in different positions at Merko since 2002, starting as an object manager and leading the general construction area of the company before taking up the position of Chairman of the Board.

“We would like to thank Keit for his contribution in his responsible role as the Chairman of the Board. During Keit’s management, the company has continued to implement digital technology, which has set an example for our subsidiaries in other countries. His focus has been on improving interdepartmental collaboration, strengthening quality management and making the company more customer-centric. Several large construction projects have been completed, and new projects have been launched and young talented specialists have joined the company,” said Andres Trink, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Merko Ehitus Eesti.

“Keit will continue as Chairman of the Board until the end of his term or until a new chairman takes over the new position. We will also discuss with him how to continue cooperation in some other role in the future. The search for a new manager of Merko Ehitus Eesti has begun, and we will announce the results as soon as we have reached an agreement,” added Andres Trink.
