Merko Ehitus is the construction company established at the beginning of 1990 which operates in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and which shares are quoted at Tallinn Stock Exchange from the year 1997. As at the end of the last year the group provided work for more than 900 persons. In 2011 the sales revenue of the company was 219.3 million euros.

The holding company Merko Ehitus includes the leading Estonian construction company AS Merko Ehitus Eesti, SIA Merks focused on the Latvian market, UAB Merko Statyba operating on the Lithuanian market and the real estate development business unit of the group together with companies possessing real estate. In case of larger construction projects the construction subsidiaries of different countries cooperate both in making the joint tenders and performing the construction works.

Merko Ehitus Eesti is the market leader of the Estonian construction sector with about 6% of the total volume of the Estonian construction market. Merko Ehitus operates in Latvia and Lithuania through its subsidiaries SIA Merks and UAB Merko Statyba, focusing selectively on projects where the competitive advantage is seen compared to other market players.

High liquidity
Merko Ehitus has a strong owners' equity position and is able to finance projects by itself. Our objective is to maintain liquidity. We have been conservative in involving debt capital. We observe that we would have sufficient necessary resources to continuously invest in attractive projects.

Wide range of construction services and products
The construction companies of Merko Ehitus operate at a broad scale: we build hotels, museums, cultural centres, business centres, service institutions, schools, kindergartens, dwellings, offices, production buildings, sport complexes. In the engineering sector we build the port facilities, waste management facilities, bridges, viaducts, water and sewerage networks, wastewater purifiers and other environmental protection facilities. In the road construction we perform all road maintenance works, we build roads, carry out maintenance repairs of roads and supervision of the extracting works and road status, produce the traffic signs and provide the repair services for the machinery. In the sector of electrical works we foremost deal with planning, adjustment and construction of the medium and high voltage substations and cable lines.
