1990 On 5 November the foundation meeting of AS EKE Merko was held. EKE Merko purchases the assets and liabilities of EKE MRK.
1992 EKE Merko moves to the new head office and production buildings in Saue, Harjumaa.
1995 EKE Merko constructs the new head office of Hansapank as the largest object in Tallinn. The company becomes one of the largest construction companies in Estonia.
1996 All activities not related to the construction are separated from the company. The new business name of the company will be AS Merko Ehitus.
1997 The first public issue of shares, followed by the quotation in the main list of Tallinn Stock Exchange on 22 July. The shares of the company are also traded at the stock exchanges of Munich and Frankfurt.
1998 Merko Ehitus acquires the majority holdings in the subsidiaries OÜ Matek, AS Merko Tartu, UAB Merko Statyba (100%) in Lithuania and SIA Merks (100%) in Latvia. The company becomes the largest construction company in Estonia and also in the Baltics with the sales of 843 million kroons.
1999 The head office of Eesti Ühispank and Kristiine trade centre are completed, the business activities are expanded in Latvia and Lithuania. E.L.L Kinnisvara AS is separated from the group with the aim to separate the real estate development from the construction. Merko Ehitus focuses on the development of main contracting and project management of construction and creating of necessary jobs. The activities are started by the engineering construction division, the fields of activity of which are ports, waste management objects, roads, bridges, water and sewerage utility lines etc. The international quality certificate ISO 9001 is attributed to the company.
2000 Sikupilli trade centre and Radisson SAS Hotel in Estonia are completed, Grand Palace Hotel in Riga is reconstructed, the production buildings of the brewery Cēsu Alus in Latvia and the head office of Lietuvos Telekomas in Lithuania are constructed. In the sector of civil engineering in Estonia the landfill of Väätsa is completed and the water supply system of Jõhvi-Ahtme and the water purification stations of Kuressaare, Valga, Pärnu are also reconstructed. The sale of Merko Ehitus exceeds the limit of a billion kroons.
2001 Related to the growth in demand of the market regarding the one-family houses and apartments the residential construction division is created in Merko Ehitus. The dwellings of Tuvi street, family-houses of Teelahkme are among the largest objects completed. The company acquires the 100%-share in Tallinna Teede AS, with which the service portfolio is expanded with the repairs of the roads and project management.
2002 Among the largest objects, the extension of Kristiine trade centre, Haabersti Citymarket and Norde Centrum are constructed. The construction of Mustakivi trade centre and trade and business centre of Viru square and head office of Hansapank in Riga is started.
2003 The subsidiary OÜ Gustaf Tallinn is founded, 100%-share in OÜ Woody is acquired; the subsidiaries of SIA Merks and UAB Merko Statyba are founded. The new large-scale construction contracts are concluded for the construction of Muuga coal terminal and Estonian Art Museum in Estonia. The former representative hotel of Vilnius called Lietuva is reconstructed.
2004 Viru Centre in Tallinn City Centre, the new head office of Hansabanka in Riga are completed. SIA Merks starts the construction of one of the most complicated development project, multifunctional entertainment centre Riga Arena in Riga. In Estonia Pärnu Hotel - water centre and the hotel Tallink City are completed from among the larger objects.
2005 The subsidiary OÜ Merko Kaevandused is transferred. As to the large-scale construction objects, the Estonian Art Museum (KUMU), apartment building of Rävala pst, Wendre production building, Muuga coal terminal and the residential and commercial building Admirali house in Estonia are completed. The construction contracts are concluded for the expansion and reconstruction of Tartu water and sewerage network and for the establishing of Saaremaa deep port with Tallinn Port. II stage of Spice trade centre is completed in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The construction of the trade centre in Šiauliai city centre is started in Lithuania.
2006 12 000 - seat multifunctional entertainment centre is completed in the area of Skanstes street as a result of the joint efforts of SIA Merks and Merko Ehitus and the development project of four 24-storied apartment buildings is started. As to the large-scale objects, Viimsi school building, Saaremaa deep port, office building of Bank of Estonia, apartment buildings in the centre of Tabasalu, II construction stage of Tallinn Landfill, complex of Iru municipal buildings and water and sewerage utility lines of the City of Valga are completed. The construction of Skulte port and Murjan bridge is started. The group's largest construction object of all times- Panorama trade centre - gets the cornerstone in Vilnius, Lithuania.
2007 Sõpruse Ärimaja, Tornimäe dwelling, Hotel Tallink SPA and Nordic Hotel Forum are completed. In housing construction the new dwelling on Sõpruse pst was completed and II stage of the construction of row houses and apartment buildings in Räägu-Kännu district was finished. In the sector of engineering construction the extension of Smuuli tee and Puurmani traffic knot were completed. The arch bridge of Puurmani traffic knot was announced the winner of "Concrete Building of the Year 2007" by the Estonian Concrete Union. In Latvia the South Mole of Skulte Port was reconstructed in I stage. As to the large-scale objects, the house of furniture next to SPICE trade centre, the modern office complex in the crossing of Duntes/Upes streets, the complex of apartment buildings on Kaivase street with the total volume of 381 apartments, trade centre in Valmiera and the representative building of Krajbanka in Skanstese quarter will be completed. In Lithuania Šiauliai trade centre, industrial building of ELINTA and business and apartment building on Gabijose street as own development were completed.
2008 The complex of Viru Prison and the office buildings at Lõõtsa 2 in Ülemiste City were completed. As to civil engineering, the water and sewerage networks of Pärnu and Paikuse, Puurmani traffic knot and the gallery of passengers of Tallinn Old City Harbour were finally completed. In the sector of electrical engineering the substations of Aseri and Aulepa and the cable line of Väo Power Station were given over.
In Latvia I stage of apartment buildings at Skanstese str, presentable hotel at Kalnciema street and office and warehouse complex in Kekava were completed. As to civil engineering, the reconstruction works on several bridges were finished.
The largest object in the history of AS Merko Ehitus - Panorama trade centre -(including parking levels of 130 000 m2) and also many complexes of apartment buildings were finished in Lithuania. In the sector of civil engineering the project of water processing and sewerage treatment of four cities of Neringa was completed.
